Terms of use – Oriveli (English)
Terms for using the Oriveli app and its subscriptions.
Updated: 24 October 2026
1. Provider and scope
The Oriveli app is provided by Christian Hermann & Martina Hermann GbR, An Rainen 3, 72525 Münsingen, Germany, email support@oriveli.app.
These terms apply to the use of the Oriveli app and to the “Oriveli Plus” subscription. Download and billing run through Apple’s App Store or Google Play; their terms apply in addition. Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies to purchases made in the App Store.
2. What Oriveli is – and what it is not
Oriveli is a journal for self-recorded observations. It helps you capture and organise symptoms, readings, medication, meals and notes, and turns them into a report that you share yourself.
Oriveli does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment, calculates no risk scores and is not a medical device. It does not replace medical advice, examination or treatment. Decisions about treatment or medication are made together with your doctor.
Oriveli is not an emergency service. For acute symptoms or in an emergency, contact a doctor or the emergency services – 112 in Germany and across the EU.
3. Minimum age
Oriveli is intended for people aged 18 and over. You confirm your age in the app before the first entry. Without that confirmation you cannot record health information.
4. Free use and Oriveli Plus
Without a subscription you get all modules, unlimited entries, history, charts, export, the encrypted backup file, the complete doctor report with PDF and CSV, the medication plan with confirmed doses, supply and restock reminder, all medication reminders without limit, one daily reminder, the automatic insights “What Oriveli sees so far” and a limited number of trial AI analyses.
Oriveli Plus adds new features: report 2.0 with trend charts, an episode calendar and confirmed doses on page 1 plus templates with your own heading and question page, your own comparison questions with saved views and the year comparison, a monthly allowance of AI analyses with an additional daily limit, several reminders with times per weekday and a pause, and the end-to-end encrypted cloud backup. Restoring and deleting a cloud backup remain possible after Plus ends. The Plus page in the app shows the current scope.
AI analyses are an additional feature of Oriveli Plus and are free three times to try out. They require your separate, explicit consent; buying Plus does not depend on it. The AI (Claude from Anthropic) only selects sentences that the app has previously formed from your entries. The result is not a diagnosis, not a statement of cause and not a treatment recommendation, and it may be incomplete. Check it against your entries and talk to your doctor before making decisions about your health. Up to 60 AI analyses per month are included (at most 10 per day). If the analysis is temporarily unavailable, the local features keep working.
5. Subscription, price, renewal and cancellation
Oriveli Plus is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. At launch the monthly plan costs €3.99 and the yearly plan €29.99 in Germany (both including VAT); in other countries the prices shown in the store apply. The price Apple or Google shows you before the purchase always prevails.
If the store offers a trial period for the yearly plan (at launch 14 days for new subscribers), the store’s terms apply to it. The trial is available once per store account; if you subscribe during the trial or do not cancel in time, it turns into the paid subscription.
The subscription renews automatically for the chosen term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your store account on confirmation of the purchase, and renewals within the last 24 hours before the period ends.
You can cancel and manage the subscription only in the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account. We cannot cancel a subscription for you. After cancellation, Plus stays active until the end of the paid period; after that the free features remain available and your entries stay on the device unchanged.
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own rules. If a store confirms a refund, the Plus entitlement ends with the next check.
6. Purchase through the store and right of withdrawal
You buy subscriptions through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The respective store handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms; you also cancel there. For downloads from the App Store, Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement (EULA) applies in addition. Where you have a statutory right of withdrawal, it expires for digital content and services under section 356(4) and (5) of the German Civil Code (BGB) only if you have expressly agreed that we begin before the withdrawal period ends and have confirmed that you know you lose the right of withdrawal.
7. Your data and your responsibility
Your entries are stored encrypted on your device. We have no access to them and can neither restore them nor reset a forgotten backup passphrase. Create backups regularly and keep the passphrase separately from the device. The cloud backup also needs your recovery code; without the code and the passphrase nobody can restore it, including us.
The report and the CSV or text export leave the app’s encryption as soon as you share or save them. Check what they contain before sharing and pass them only to people who should receive them.
Values you import from Health Connect or Apple Health remain your own information; Oriveli does not check them for accuracy and does not reconcile them. Weather and pollen values are forecast and index values for an entire region, not a measurement at your location. Both are an aid to your own observation and not a basis for medical decisions.
How we process data is explained in this app’s privacy information.
8. Availability and changes
The local features work without an internet connection. Purchase, restoration, AI analysis and the cloud backup require a connection to our backend and may be temporarily limited by maintenance, faults or third-party requirements. Weather and pollen values come from MET Norway and the German weather service; if those services fail or change their terms, the feature may be limited or discontinued.
We may change Plus if there is a valid reason (adaptation to new technology, security, a change in the law, a change or discontinuation of a provider, for example the AI provider), the change causes you no additional costs and we inform you clearly and comprehensibly in the app. If a change affects your access or the usability of Plus more than only insignificantly, we inform you in good time beforehand on a durable medium; you can then end the contract free of charge within 30 days of the information or the change (section 327r(3) to (5) of the German Civil Code, BGB).
We may adjust these terms with effect for the future, for example when the legal situation changes or new features arrive. The current version is always on this page.
9. Licence
You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use Oriveli on the devices of your store account for your own purposes. The app, its content and its design remain protected by copyright. Resale, rental, circumvention of technical protection measures and reverse engineering beyond what the law allows are not permitted. Your own entries and reports belong to you.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for fraudulently concealed defects and under the German Product Liability Act.
For slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of material contractual obligations, that is, obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely; in that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Any further liability is excluded.
AI results only reproduce selected sentences from your own entries and do not replace medical advice. We are liable for damage in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2.
11. Applicable law and contact
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected.
We answer questions about these terms at support@oriveli.app. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
